 ROKR E1
Motorola ROKR E1 Review Motorola and Apple announced the new ROKR phone with iTunes functionality. This phone has been called the "iPod phone" or "iTunes phone". It's the first moblie phone to support Apple's iTunes system as used in the iPod. The music player supports various music formats, including MP3 and AAC. The ROKR has fast transfer times of 30 seconds for a song of 4 Mbyte which is much slower than an iPod. Listening to music does drain the battery but with 15 hours of action while using the headset and a little more than 6 hours, in case you decided to use the surround sound feature, you really can't be complaining. 3D surround sound comes from 2 integrated speakers. There are two drawbacks about the music feature. First is that you can't listen to music with a Blue tooth headset. Blue tooth is for voice calls only. Secondly, the phone has a limit of 100 music tracks, regardless of the memory available, even you use TransFlash memory cards as an extention. 100 tracks is a limit that will probably frustrate many users. The ROKR has a good 262k TFT color screen, a camera and a video recorder, although the camera is only VGA resolution (0.3 megapixels) with 4 x times into the subject for clarity. A nice feature is the side lights that sync with music, ringtones and games and the vibration effects that sync with games and music. The "airplane" mode is also very handy, enabling you to access games and music during flights. The Motorola ROKR or the music phone can even handle e-mail (SMTP, POP3 and IMAP4 are supported); instant messaging (wireless village) is included but whether it works or not shall depend upon the network you use. The phone is tri-band GSM with GPRS technology.
